What You'll Learn during this mentorship?
In this class, we will go over environment and prop design for animated feature films. Specifically for an adventure-themed film. This class will have a strong focus on production art, but will also include pre-production exploration paintings. We will go over composition, colour, perspective, draftsmanship and design principles that are commonly used in a film production environment.
Course Goals
Students will have a much more complete understanding of the design principles used by professional vis dev artists.
Students will understand how to execute their own ideas and produce convincing andcompelling artwork for themselves.
Students will exit the course with one or two new portfolio-ready pieces.

During this mentorship, Ron will share his own reference library and other study material, which a student can use throughout the program and later.
You'll get weekly assignments, on which you'll get one-on-one feedback.
MENTORSHIP CURRICULUM
Students will learn the basics of design principles. These easy and yet powerful principles help you throughout your design journey for drawing any complex props & environments.
Shacks are an integral part of any environment. In this module, Ron will help you out with how to develop different types of shacks from the real-environment references.
Using reference

Foliage and environment drawing
After completing every three classes, Ron will do one-on-one feedback on every student's work, this will be a recorded feedback with drawovers and improvement suggestions.
Prop callouts are basically the detailed, zoomed-in visual elements used in concept art, design, and technical drawing to highlight specific features, textures, materials, or functions of a complex object.
In this module, you'll learn the types of compositions used to design different types of environments. You'll learn the principles being used in feature films and how compositing and staging work in big production.
Colours play a vital part in every art project; here, you will learn a unique approch of implementing the colour and the colour theory. Ron will show a demo on colours on different types of props, foliage & clouds and the key elements that support any environment.
Final feedback on your final assignment after 6-weeks class.
